CARTE BLANCHE HAKIM HAMADOUCHE (18/02/2012) 20:00

Two great gigs with the trio Oriental Fusion + surprise guests!

Born in Marseilles, Hakim Hamadouche is best known to be the mandolute player of singer Rachid Taha. In 1995, he creates the band Oriental Fusion with Ahmad Compaoré and Edmond Hosdikian. He also collaborates with Les Têtes Raides (Fragile) or Tricky... His playing recalls the beautiful melodies of Northern Africa and its oriental rhythms.

Oriental Fusion was born of the will to gather energetic and spontaneous individualities around their oriental roots: Algeria, Egypt and Armenia. Three traditions, three exiles, three sensibilities which hold a musical dialogue, led by Hakim's Spanish-Arabic singing. They conceive a striking music: the chaabi (Algerian blues), with influences of free jazz and improvised music.

Hakim Hamadouche: mandolute, voice
Ahmad Compaoré: drums, percussions
Edmond Hosdikian: saxophone, larsenophone
